The Robot Raven Arduino brain in a 3d printed Skeleton

Hugi the Robot Raven, Ian B Dunne, Science shows HuginsDortir, The Robotic Raven is an electronmechanical automaton. Unlike my previous robots She has two braincells, an Arduino Mega that handles all the sensor inputs and movements and an Arduino Uno running an Adafruit sound board for her lovely singing voice. Nine servos, voltage regulators LEDs and several switches together with a 3D printed skeleton and I found a way of making artificial feathers to complete my little friend. She can't fly and to be fair She probably weighs more than three real ravens put together.

The Name; Odin, Old Grim, the One eyed King of the Norse Gods has two Ravens, Hugin and Munin. Who leave Asgard every dawn to fly through the Nine worlds and return at dusk to keep him informed. "this is why his cunning is sharp" as the Vikings soothsayers said. Hugin means Thought and Munin memory, so my tribute to this wonderful species of bird is Thoughts daughter.

I used PLA for the printing. The feathers are lining material doped with acrylic varnish then cut to size, for the body covering these were then glued to lycra skin. Hugi the Robot Raven Profile, Ian B Dunne, Science shows Hugi the Robot Raven, Ian B Dunne, Science shows

My coding, best not to ask, I think of it a digital cogs and gears. One thing is for certain, it is not a pretty as lots of little brass bits and bobs.

There will be a video just as soon as I get time.
